Having friends all over the world, he is well-travelled and has dedicated his life to family and God. An average Joe at plain sight, he is a diamond in the rough underneath the surface. Derrick Gooden is no stranger to service. He serves his community, his family, his city, and most importantly, his God.

He was born to a teenaged couple in the Richard Allen part of North Philadelphia. Being raised by children, Derrick overcame adversity and has proved himself mentally gifted by never giving up. He cherishes the love, hope, and grace he receives in his daily life. He claims all of his blessings is from the love of his almighty God
